Karen D. Cheng, M.D, Laguna Hills
Dr. Karen Cheng is board–certified in sleep medicine and neurology. She is an active member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Neurology and the California Sleep Society. Dr. Cheng is in private practice in Laguna Hills at the Saddleback Medical Tower and is a medical staff member of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center.
Dr. Cheng attended college at Stanford University, where she graduated with honors. While at Stanford, she studied neurobiology and dance. Subsequently, she obtained her medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia. She completed her internship and residency in neurology at UC Irvine. During her training as a neurologist, she studied sleep disorders in patients with neuromuscular conditions.
Following her residency in neurology , Dr. Cheng completed a clinical fellowship in sleep medicine at Stanford University, which was the site of the very first sleep disorders clinic in the country. While at Stanford, she had the privilege of treating patients with a variety of sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, and REM–sleep behavior disorder.
Dr. Cheng enjoys supporting the cultural arts and sharing quality time with her husband, son, beloved cat and friends.
